Who is going to care for the caregiver?

Who is going to care for the caregiver?

When she works all day, giving all that she has,

she picks up, she cleans, she orders all needed things,

Who is going to care for the caregiver?

Society says “take care of YOURSELF, so you have something to give!”

But that is not how you live.

You live only when you give,

Otherwise, there is no food, or clothes to wear,

medicines or diapers, or hope to share.

Things and people do not seem to continue without your care.

Who is going to care for the caregiver?

Like spinning plates, one teeters, the other totters,

balance just right and you might just succeed.

What does it mean “care” for the caregiver?

Why is the meaning elusive?

Because it is not found where men think to look.

Jesus is the ultimate caregiver.

He gives without hope of return.

He lends joy and peace and hope where it is needed.

He provides all that is required.

He loves all, so that all may gain.

Who is going to care for the caregiver?

My soul is at rest and I can keep going,

with Jesus my guide and source for ALL things.
